Stephen Manu, a former forward for Asante Kotoko, is certain that the team can win the Ghana Premier League in 2024–2025.

Manu was present when Kotoko defeated the Phobians 1-0 on Sunday to secure the most points possible in the Super Clash.

After a back-row blunder between Hearts' defender Kelvin Osei Asibey and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, striker Albert Amoah emerged as the Super Clash's hero, scoring deep into injury time.

Additionally, Manu stated during the match that he believes his old team may win the Ghana Premier League this year.

"Certainly, without a doubt. Given their performance in the Super Clash, I firmly believe Kotoko can win the Premier League. "If the proper things are done, they can win the league hands down," he said on Kessben FM, as reported by Ghanasoccernet.com.

Hearts of Oak has been playing well, but Kotoko overwhelmed them. If they had been productive enough, they ought to have defeated Hearts by a four-goal margin. Although Kotoko should have scored a lot of goals to overwhelm the Hearts club, the result was not disappointing. He declared, "A win is a win."

Asante Kotoko has 21 points from 13 games thus far, good for sixth place in the Ghana Premier League standings.

Bashir Hayford shows interest in coaching with the Black Stars.

Bashir Hayford, the head coach of Heart of Lions, has stated that he would be open to leading Ghana's senior national football team, the Black Stars.

The Black Stars are facing trouble right now after missing out on qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which coincides with Hayford's interest in the position.

The seasoned coach thinks he has what it takes to lead the Black Stars.

"Why are you asking? What are the requirements for coaching the Black Stars? I can handle the work. So, if you think I am competent, give it to me; if not, do not give it to me," he stated on Asempa FM.

Hayford's interest in the position may make him a future candidate for the Ghana Football Association, as the Black Stars will play Chad in the 2026 World Cup qualifier in March 2025.

After a disastrous bottom-place finish in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, the team is looking to recover from previous bad performances.
