After David Ocloo left the team's technical team, Asante Kotoko SC is reportedly thinking about hiring Hamza Obeng Mohammed as their next assistant coach.

Ocloo, who has been with Kotoko since 2021, resigned just before the team's thrilling 1-0 Ghana Premier League victory over Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

The 31-year-old Hamza Obeng's stellar coaching record has made him a serious candidate for the position.

From 2017 until 2021, he assisted Samuel Boadu in building a competitive side while serving as his deputy at Medeama SC.

Later, Obeng accompanied Boadu to Hearts of Oak, where he was instrumental in the group's triumph.

Hearts won back-to-back FA Cups and the Ghana Premier League title in the 2020–21 season under their guidance, ending a ten-year drought.

Obeng, who has a CAF License B certificate and is currently an assistant coach with Vision FC, has played a key role in Vision's ascent to the top division in Ghanaian football.

He is a strong candidate for the Kotoko position because of his technical expertise and proven track record.

Ghana has advanced to the semifinals and will play Côte d'Ivoire at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.

There will be pressure on us to host and win. However, the players will be under more pressure than the coaches. However, Adarkwa stated that pressure will be present.

"We will do well because we are incredibly prepared for every match."

After some other teams in the competition withdrew, the Black Maidens defeated Benin in back-to-back games to guarantee their spot in the semifinals.

The Ghana U17 women's national team's participation in the 2024 WAFU B U17 Girls' Cup is a historic milestone as it is their first competition since they were banned for two years owing to age-cheating issues.
