After three years with Asante Kotoko, assistant coach David Dickson Ocloo has announced his departure.

Prior to last weekend's Super Clash versus Hearts of Oak at Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Ocloo resigned from his job.

"We can report that David Dickson Ocloo has left his post as first assistant coach," the club said in a statement, thanking him for his contributions. In addition to wishing David the best of luck in his future, the club would like to thank him for his contributions to the team.

Under Prosper Narteh Ogum, he was instrumental in Kotoko's victory in the Ghana Premier League in the 2021–2022 season.

Before rejoining Kotoko for the 2023–24 season, Ocloo served as temporary head coach for Hearts of Oak for a brief while during a coaching hiatus in the 2022–2023 season.

His resignation's cause is still unknown. Without their assistant coach, Kotoko will now get ready for their upcoming league matchup against Dreams FC.

Before the Nigeria match, Black Galaxies coach Didi Dramani stated, "We have an excellent opportunity to qualify."

Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, the head coach of the Black Galaxies, thinks his team has a high chance of making it to the 2024 African Nations Championships (CHAN) competition.

Ghana will meet Nigeria in the playoffs for a spot in the competition, which has been rescheduled for next year, for the second year in a row.

After defeating Nigeria on penalties two years before guaranteeing a spot in the most recent edition, Ghana qualified over them.

On Sunday, December 22, Didi Dramani feels optimistic about his team's chances against their West African counterparts in the first leg match.

In terms of African football, Ghana is a very good team, and we are playing against one of the top nations in the continent. "That is what we are doing, and the odds are quite good," the former assistant coach of the Black Stars told SuperSport Blitz.

"We are attempting to assemble a team, develop the procedure, and be able to play with the unity and fluidity that we desire. We should be able to sail through once we put in the necessary work, energy, and tactical element adaptation.

Ghana recently defeated Togo in a friendly match as part of their preparations for the two matches, with goals from Albert Amoah and Issah Yakubu.

Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya will host the CHAN competition.
