GABRIEL KUMI APPOINTED BOARD CHAIR OF GHANA'S CHAMBER OF OIL MARKETING COMPANIES

Gabriel Kumi, the Executive Director of Trinity Oil Company, has been elected as the new Board Chair of the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies. Alongside him, Philip Teiku, the CEO of Star Oil, will serve as the Vice Chair. They take over from William Tawiah, the outgoing chairman and CEO of Zen Petroleum, and Kwame Osei Prempeh of Goil, who previously held the vice chairman position. This leadership transition marks a pivotal moment for the chamber as it aims to uphold its mission of advancing excellence and innovation within Ghana’s oil marketing sector.


Mr. Kumi is a seasoned expert in the downstream oil industry, particularly in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) marketing. Over the past 15 years, he has played a significant role in shaping Ghana’s LPG sector by advocating for industry standards, regulatory improvements, and sustainable growth. His leadership at Trinity Oil Company has been transformative, positioning the company as a leading LPG marketing entity and the sole distributor of Shield Lubricants in Ghana. Mr. Kumi’s strategic approach and dedication have earned him recognition as one of the most respected figures in the LPG industry. Additionally, his role as Vice Chairman of the LPG Marketing Companies Association of Ghana demonstrates his commitment to fostering safety, efficiency, and innovation within the sector.

With a rich academic and professional background, Mr. Kumi brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. He is a Chartered Marketer accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM, UK) and holds a master’s degree in Entrepreneurship from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). His expertise, coupled with a passion for excellence, positions him as an influential leader poised to drive the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies towards achieving its goals.
