Albert Amoah, a striker for Asante Kotoko, expressed his concern that his team had numerous chances in the first half but was unable to score, which led to panic in the dressing room at halftime.
Kotoko entered halfway without a goal on Sunday, despite controlling the play at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the Ghana Premier League encounter of week 13.
But they persisted, and in the last seconds of the match, their perseverance paid off handsomely.
After Hearts of Oak's Kelvin Osei Asibey and goalie Benjamin Asare misplayed, Amoah scored the game-winning goal in the 95th minute.
After the game, Amoah said, "I am really proud and I want to thank all of my fans and supporters that came here."
"We had a lot of chances in the first half and could not score, which scared me a lot. However, my coaches and teammates assured me that it was not over, so I came in really strong."
With the victory, Kotoko moves up to fifth place in the standings with 21 points, three points behind leaders Heart of Lions and two ahead of seventh-place Phobians.
