Mahama Names Squad For The Fight Against Corruption

The President-Elect, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has announced the names of his men who he would use to combat the fight against corruption.

During his Resetting Ghana Campaign towards the 2024 General Election, President Mahama promised Ghanaians that should he be voted for, he would recover all state funds and assets stolen and illegally acquired by the officials of the Akufo Addo-Bawumiah government.

He named this “Operation Recover All Loots, ORAL”

This agenda seemed to be the most anticipating objective of many Ghanaians including the Deputy National Communications Officer of the NDC, Malik Basintale and he even promised to play a crucial role in the act to recover all Loots.

It was not therefore a surprise to many Ghanaians when the Spokesperson for the Transition Team of the President Elect who doubles as a Member of Parliament Elect, Hon Felix Ofosu Kwakye announced the names of the members constituted to help the President Elect to recover stolen assets from the government officials of the NPP Administration.

The names included the following:

1. Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. The MP for North Tongu has been named as the chairman of the committee

2. COP rtd. Nathan Kofi Boakye. The renowned ex-police officer who is known as a “No nonsense man” is a member of this group

3. Mr Daniel Dumelevo. The former Auditor General, who is known for his credibility and admired by Ghanaians for his firm standing in the fight against corruption is a member of this group

4. Lawyer Martin Kpebu. A human rights lawyer and public advocate, Martin Kpebu is a member of this group

5. Mr. Raymond Archer, an investigative journalist is also part of this group

Many Ghanaians have recommended the President-Elect for his readiness to fight against corruption.

However, the members of the soon to be opposition party, NPP are optimistic that this is a usual political gesture and would yield no positive results.

Many Ghanaians have also questioned why key personnel like Malik Basintale are not part of this team.

The future will determine whether this team is just a political setup or a real fighter
