Prophet Adom Kyei Duah, founder and leader of the Believers Worship Center, has strongly responded to members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who have demanded a refund of the money he received from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during his presidential campaign. The controversy erupted when some NPP supporters took to social media, accusing the prophet of failing to deliver victory for the party in the recent elections and demanding that he return the one billion cedis offering given to him.
In a fiery retort during his church service, Prophet Adom Kyei Duah made it clear that he would not entertain such demands. He categorically stated that he is "not for sale" and that he has more than enough resources to live comfortably without depending on anyone's financial contributions. The prophet's bold statement was aimed at those within the NPP who were seeking to hold him accountable for the outcome of the elections.
The calls for a refund had sparked a wave of controversy, with many questioning whether it was fair for political supporters to demand the return of money offered as part of campaign contributions. Some NPP members had expected Prophet Adom Kyei Duah’s involvement to influence the election results in their favor, but when Bawumia lost the election, they turned on him, blaming him for the outcome.
In his response, Prophet Adom Kyei Duah dismissed the claims as “nonsense,” making it clear that he could not be held responsible for the electoral results. He reminded his critics that his services were never conditional on political success and that his relationship with the NPP was based on mutual respect, not financial transactions. He emphasized that he had provided his spiritual guidance to Bawumia and the NPP in good faith, without any guarantee of electoral victory.
The prophet's remarks have since ignited further debates, with some supporting his stance and others questioning the ethics of political donations to religious leaders. However, Prophet Adom Kyei Duah remains resolute, asserting that he would not be bullied into returning the money and that his integrity and independence were non-negotiable. His defiant response has drawn significant attention, further fueling the ongoing tensions within the political and religious communities in Ghana.
