Nyantakyi further clarified his role in Ghanaian football, stating that his tenure as GFA president was focused on the broader development of the sport, not just the Black Stars. He highlighted that his administration put in place a comprehensive football policy in 2006, which aimed at enhancing all aspects of Ghanaian football, including youth football, women's football, refereeing, and governance. He also pointed out that even after stepping down, in October 2017, he participated in a three-day summit in Cape Coast to engage various stakeholders on how to advance the sport as a whole, not just the Black Stars. Nyantakyi’s efforts, he argued, were aimed at ensuring a lasting legacy for Ghanaian football, far beyond his presidency.

The former GFA president also expressed his continued support for the Black Stars and Ghanaian football in general. He reminded Ghanaians that football, like any other sport, evolves with leadership transitions. He gave the example of FIFA and CAF, both of which have thrived even after the departures of long-serving leaders like Sepp Blatter and Issa Hayatou. Nyantakyi made it clear that the challenges facing the Black Stars are not the result of any malice or sabotage on his part. He passionately urged Ghanaians to disregard the unfounded claims and focus on supporting the team. Nyantakyi concluded by affirming that he would always celebrate the success of the Black Stars and feel sorrow when they lose, just like any other Ghanaian. His commitment to football development remains unwavering, and he expressed his willingness to contribute if called upon, as he believes the future of Ghanaian football is bright regardless of his involvement.
