Lord Kenya, born Abraham Philip Akpor Kojo Kenya on May 19, 1978, is a renowned Ghanaian artist who made significant contributions to the hip-hop and hiplife music scenes. He rose to fame in the late 1990s, becoming a key figure in the popularization of hip-hop culture in Ghana. Lord Kenya’s bold lyrical style, strong delivery, and American hip-hop influences helped him captivate the youth and make a lasting impact on the music industry.

Kenya’s debut album, Sika Baa (1998), was a major success, with hits like “Sika Baa” reflecting the aspirations and struggles of everyday Ghanaians. Over the next decade, he solidified his status as a leading hiplife artist with albums such as Yeesom Sika, Sika Mpo Fane Ho, and Born Again. His electrifying stage presence, energetic performances, and relatable lyrics earned him numerous accolades, including Hiplife Artiste of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards.

However, despite his success, Kenya struggled with personal issues, including alcohol and drug abuse. The pressures of fame took a toll on his life, leaving him feeling unfulfilled. In 2010, while at the peak of his career, Kenya experienced a life-changing spiritual awakening. He felt a deep conviction and a compelling call to leave his old life behind and embrace Christianity. This moment marked the beginning of his transition from a hip-hop star to an evangelist.

The transformation stunned fans and the entertainment industry. Kenya publicly renounced his old lifestyle and announced his new role as Evangelist Lord Kenya. He dedicated himself to preaching the gospel, sharing his story of redemption and using his life as an example of God’s power to change lives. Lord Kenya now travels across Ghana, speaking in churches, schools, and prisons, offering hope to those struggling with addiction and personal challenges.

Through his Faith Builders Ministries, Kenya works to rehabilitate drug addicts and help them rebuild their lives. His ministry focuses on counseling, prayer, and outreach programs, making a lasting impact on those in need of guidance.

Lord Kenya’s legacy is twofold: as a pioneer of hip-hop and hiplife in Ghana and as an evangelist dedicated to spreading the message of hope and transformation. His journey from fame to faith continues to inspire many, proving that true fulfillment lies in purpose and service.
