The Ghana Premier League witnessed an exciting round of matches, with Heart of Lions solidifying their position at the top of the table. The Kpando-based club extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches, with six wins and a draw, after defeating debutants Basake Holy Stars 3-1 at the Kpando Sports Stadium.

In-form attacker Nana Kwame Oppong continued his impressive form, scoring a brace to take his tally to three consecutive goals. He opened the scoring in the 12th minute, before Emmanuel Sakyi doubled the lead in the 22nd minute. Holy Stars pulled one back in the 60th minute, but Oppong sealed the win in stoppage time, completing his brace.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over Dreams FC at the Tuba Astroturf in Krokrobite. Kotoko took control with goals from Yahaya Baba and Saaka Dauda in the first half. Joseph Esso pulled one back for Dreams in the 58th minute, but the Porcupine Warriors held on for their third consecutive victory, keeping them three points behind the league leaders.

Bibiani GoldStars bounced back from a 1-1 draw with Karela United to claim a 2-0 win over Nsoatreman. Michael Nkoah scored just before halftime, and Foster Agyei netted his debut league goal to secure all three points. GoldStars remain second with 27 points, tied with leaders Heart of Lions, but with a slightly inferior goal difference.

In another match, Vision FC fought hard for a 1-1 draw against Young Apostles. Ramzy Abubakar gave Apostles an early lead in the 7th minute, but Emmanuel Atta Frimpong equalized for Vision in the 86th minute. Vision FC remain 11th while Young Apostles sit 13th.

Nations handed 10-man Legon Cities a 3-0 defeat, with the latter struggling to retain coach Paa Kwesi Fabin, who has yet to confirm his future with the club. Bechem United also secured a 1-0 victory over defending champions Samartex, who started life without coach Nurudeen Amadu on a sour note following his resignation.

The Ghana Premier League is shaping up to be an exciting competition, with several teams vying for the top spot. Heart of Lions will look to maintain their unbeaten streak, while Kotoko will aim to continue their winning run.
