Police Refute Electoral Disturbance Claims in Nsawam Adoagyiri

The Ghana Police Service has swiftly debunked circulating reports of electoral disturbances in Nsawam Adoagyiri, describing the claims as false and misleading. In an official statement released earlier today, the police urged the public to disregard these reports, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring peace and order during the ongoing electoral process.

According to the police, their officers are actively monitoring the situation in Nsawam Adoagyiri and surrounding areas, and no credible incidents of unrest have been recorded. “We want to assure the general public that there is absolute calm in Nsawam Adoagyiri. Any reports suggesting otherwise are baseless and should be ignored,” the statement read.

The false claims of disturbances sparked concern among residents and stakeholders, with many taking to social media to express worry about potential violence. However, the police have assured the public that the situation is under control. They further urged individuals and media outlets to verify information before sharing to prevent unnecessary panic.

Superintendent Kwame Mensah, a senior officer in the area, reiterated the police’s stance during a press briefing. “Our officers are fully deployed, and we are in touch with the community leaders. We advise everyone to remain calm and go about their daily activities without fear,” he stated.

Residents of Nsawam Adoagyiri have also supported the police's claims, describing the area as peaceful. A local trader, Ama Serwaa, shared her perspective, stating, “I’ve been at the market all day, and everything has been calm. People are just going about their normal business.”

The Ghana Police Service has called on the public to report any suspicious activities or individuals that may disrupt peace in the area. Additionally, they pledged to continue providing timely updates on security matters to keep citizens informed.

The police’s prompt response to these rumors reflects their dedication to maintaining public trust and safeguarding the integrity of the ongoing electoral process.
