WAEC: GH¢25 Million Insufficient to Release 2024 WASSCE Results

The delay in releasing the results is primarily due to WAEC's inability to mark the objective section of the WASSCE because of broken scanners. The council had expected to complete the scanning of objective cards in November, but this has been hindered by the lack of funds to repair the scanners.
Prior to the recent release of GH¢25 million, the government had provided GH¢50 million to WAEC to administer the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and WASSCE. However, this amount is still insufficient to cover the council's expenses, including the repair of faulty scanners.
