Prosper Narteh Ogum, the head coach of Asante Kotoko, has emphasized the significance of his substitutes in their arduous 2-1 triumph over Dreams FC at the Tuba Astroturf.
Ogum claims that the changes gave the club much-needed consistency, especially in the center of the park.
"I believe we had some stability, balance, and solidity in the middle when we made the substitutes, and we got the game moving, especially in the last 15 minutes," he said.
Ogum's remarks follow questions regarding Kotoko's stamina during the game. The instructor explained, though, that the problem was more with structure than physical endurance.
"I believe that we were weaker in terms of endurance rather than strength and speed," he stated.
Their recent derby triumph against Hearts of Oak may have affected his players, the coach admitted. He said, "You expect energy levels to decline when you play a big game like Hearts of Oak, and they exerted a lot of energy on that day, but to me, it was not that noteworthy."
After victories over Aduana Stars and Hearts of Oak, Kotoko's victory over Dreams FC is their third straight victory. Now that their season is picking up steam, the Porcupine Warriors want to contend for the Ghana Premier League championship.
