FC Samartex, the reigning Ghana Premier League champions, will announce their new head coach on December 25, 2024, following the resignation of Nurudeen Amadu. Amadu, who guided the team to the league title last season, stepped down after a series of disappointing results in the ongoing 2024/25 season. After 13 matches, Samartex finds itself in a precarious position, sitting 10th on the league table with just 17 points. Their poor form has been compounded by their early exit from the FA Cup, where they were eliminated in the Round of 64 by Bibiani Gold Stars. Additionally, they faced disappointment in their debut appearance at the CAF Champions League, where they were knocked out in the preliminary round. This sequence of negative outcomes led to Amadu’s resignation after a 1-0 loss to Heart of Lions, with assistant coach Henry Wellington stepping in as the interim manager.

Under Wellington’s temporary leadership, Samartex faced further setbacks, including another 1-0 defeat to Bechem United in their last match. Despite these struggles, the club’s president, Dr. Richard Nsenkyire, confirmed in an interview that the search for a permanent head coach is now complete, and the new manager will be unveiled on December 25. The new coach will be tasked with revitalizing the team and steering them back to form. The appointment is expected to coincide with the team’s upcoming Matchday 15 fixture against Aduana Stars on December 28 at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa. Prior to this crucial match, Samartex will face Nations FC on December 24 in a Matchday 14 encounter at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, where they will hope to secure a much-needed victory to boost team morale.

The unveiling of the new head coach is a highly anticipated moment for the fans and management of FC Samartex, as the club aims to recover from its recent struggles and challenge for a higher position in the league standings. With their early successes under Amadu now a distant memory, the club is determined to turn around their fortunes and salvage what remains of the season. The fresh leadership will be expected to bring new ideas, strategies, and motivation to the squad. Given the club's status as the defending champions, the pressure is on for the new coach to produce immediate results, especially with the high expectations surrounding FC Samartex. As the season progresses, all eyes will be on the new coach's ability to lift the team from its current slump and guide them back to the top of Ghanaian football.
