Dr. Richard Duah Nsenkyire, the President and owner of FC Samartex, has expressed his determination to turn around the team’s fortunes in the second half of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season. Despite starting the season as defending champions, the team has struggled to maintain its dominance, currently sitting in 10th place on the league table with only 17 points after 14 matches. This lackluster performance, compounded by injuries and other setbacks, led to the dismissal of head coach Nurudeen Amadu. However, Dr. Nsenkyire remains hopeful that the team’s preparations during the mid-season break will help them reclaim their form in the remaining fixtures.

Speaking on Asempa FM's Ultimate Sports Show, Dr. Nsenkyire explained the challenges his team has faced this season, including the integration of younger players and injuries to key members of the squad. "We recruited young players, and they are now adapting to the team," he noted, while also highlighting the progress of players recovering from long-term injuries. He acknowledged the team’s shortcomings in technical areas but assured fans that measures are being taken to address these issues before the second round begins. While he refrained from promising another league title, the President emphasized the importance of rebuilding the team’s strength at home, making their stadium a fortress. “We’ll ensure our home ground becomes a place where fans can enjoy exciting games,” he stated.

FC Samartex is set to kick off their second-round campaign with a home game against Nations FC at DUN’s Park on Matchday 15. Dr. Nsenkyire emphasized the team’s commitment to improving and gaining momentum as the season progresses. He also thanked supporters for their unwavering dedication, urging them to continue backing the team as they strive for a stronger performance in the latter half of the season. The President’s optimism reflects the club’s resolve to overcome its current struggles and reignite the spirit that earned them the championship title last season. Fans eagerly await the team’s revival, hoping that their efforts during the break will lead to a significant turnaround and a memorable conclusion to the season.
