Dear You,
As the year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible person you are. I know that it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and to lose sight of just how amazing you truly are. But I want you to know, without a shadow of a doubt, that you are Enough.
You are enough, just as you are, in this moment. Your strengths and weaknesses, your triumphs and failures, your joys and sorrows - all of it combines to make you the unique, talented, and compassionate person you are today. And that person is worthy of love, respect, and celebration.
I know that it's tempting to compare yourself to others, to measure your success by someone else's yardstick. But I want you to know that you are not defined by anyone else's standards. You are your own person, with your own strengths and weaknesses, and your own path to follow.
And what a year it has been! You've faced challenges and overcome obstacles, you've grown and learned and evolved in ways you never thought possible. You've made mistakes, yes, but you've also made progress, and that's something to be proud of.
I want you to remember all the times you felt like giving up, but didn't. All the times you felt like you weren't good enough, but pushed through anyway. All the times you felt like you were alone, but reached out and found support and love.
You did well this year, my friend. You did well, not because you achieved some arbitrary standard of success, but because you showed up, day after day, and gave it your all. You did well because you were brave, and resilient, and kind.
And I want you to know that it's okay to not be okay. It's okay to struggle, to doubt yourself, to feel like you're not enough. Because the truth is, you are enough, even in those moments. You are enough, even when you feel like you're not.
I want you to remember that you are loved, not just for what you do, but for who you are. You are loved for your quirks and your flaws, for your strengths and your weaknesses. You are loved, period.
As you look back on the past year, I want you to focus on the good. I want you to remember the laughter, the adventures, the moments of joy and connection. I want you to remember the ways in which you grew and learned, the ways in which you pushed yourself outside of your comfort zone.
And as you look forward to the new year, I want you to remember that you are capable of amazing things. I want you to remember that you are strong, and resilient, and brave. I want you to remember that you are loved, and that you are enough.
You are enough, my friend. You are enough, just as you are. Don't let anyone, including yourself, ever make you feel like you're not.
With love and admiration,
Mr. Hunt.
