Tesano: Bishop Salifu Amoako’s Car, Five Others Involved in Accident
In a shocking turn of events on the evening of December 26, 2024, Bishop Salifu Amoako, the founder and leader of Alive Chapel International, was involved in a multiple-vehicle accident at Tesano in Accra. The incident, which occurred around 6:30 PM, involved six vehicles, leaving several people injured and causing significant damage to the cars involved.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the accident happened when a commercial vehicle attempted to overtake another car but lost control, leading to a chain collision. Bishop Amoako’s black luxury SUV, which was heading toward Achimota, was caught in the melee.
According to sources close to the bishop, he was on his way to a church program when the accident occurred. Fortunately, Bishop Amoako emerged unscathed, though visibly shaken by the incident. Several others, including the drivers and passengers of the affected vehicles, sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
One eyewitness, Kofi Mensah, who was driving behind the bishop’s vehicle, described the scene as chaotic. “I saw the trotro [commercial minibus] lose control and hit another car.
It happened so fast, and within seconds, cars were crashing into each other. It’s a miracle that Bishop Amoako wasn’t hurt because his car was badly damaged,” he recounted.
The Tesano Police quickly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and ensure traffic flow resumed. Speaking to the media, Inspector Grace Amankwah of the Tesano Police Command confirmed the accident and stated that investigations have commenced to determine the exact cause of the crash.
“Our initial findings suggest that reckless overtaking and speeding might have contributed to the accident. We urge drivers to exercise caution, especially during this festive season, to avoid such unfortunate incidents,” Inspector Amankwah advised.
Meanwhile, Alive Chapel International has issued a statement thanking God for Bishop Amoako’s safety and expressing prayers for those injured in the accident. “The hand of God has protected our father, Bishop Salifu Amoako. We are deeply grateful for his safety and pray for the speedy recovery of all those affected,” the statement read.
As the festive season continues, authorities have intensified road safety campaigns, urging drivers to prioritize caution and adhere to traffic regulations. This accident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety during high-traffic periods.
Further updates on the condition of the injured and the investigation will be provided as more information becomes available.
