Azerbaijan Probes Plane Crash, Accuses Russia of Obstruction

Baku, Azerbaijan - The government of Azerbaijan has launched an investigation into the recent plane crash that killed all 57 people on board, accusing Russia of attempting to conceal the causes of the tragedy.

The plane, a Boeing 737-800 operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, crashed on August 25 while attempting to land at Baku's Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The impact and subsequent fire killed everyone on board, including the crew and passengers.

Azerbaijani authorities immediately launched an investigation into the crash, but they claim that Russian officials have been uncooperative and have attempted to hide the true causes of the tragedy.

"We have evidence that suggests the plane was in good condition and that the weather conditions were not a factor in the crash," said a spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Transportation. "However, the Russian authorities are not providing us with the necessary information and are instead trying to shift the blame onto the Azerbaijani side."

The spokesperson added that the Azerbaijani government has requested assistance from international aviation authorities, including the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

"We want to get to the bottom of this tragedy and find out what really happened," said the spokesperson. "We will not rest until we have the truth and until those responsible are held accountable."

The crash has sparked widespread outrage and grief in Azerbaijan, with many calling for greater transparency and accountability from the government and aviation authorities.

"This is a national tragedy and we demand answers," said one protester outside the airport. "We want to know what happened to our loved ones and we want those responsible to be punished."
