The recent comments made by Inusah Fuseini, former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, criticizing the Electoral Commission (EC) for causing a constitutional crisis in Ghana have raised eyebrows. Fuseini's assertion that the EC's decision to gazette the results of 274 constituencies amidst a pending Supreme Court case is misleading and dishonest.

It is essential to set the record straight and attribute the blame to the actual perpetrators – the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The NDC's actions, not the EC's, have led to the current constitutional crisis.

During the recent elections, NDC supporters and thugs stormed various collation centers, disrupting the voting process and vandalizing property. These individuals forced EC officials to declare NDC candidates as winners in elections they did not win. Furthermore, they destroyed pink sheets, which are essential evidence of the true state of affairs regarding voting.

The EC was left with no choice but to continue the collation process to determine the actual winners of the disputed seats. If the NDC had not interfered with the voting process, there would have been no need for the EC to take the actions that Fuseini and others are now criticizing.

It is crucial for Fuseini and the NDC leadership to acknowledge their role in creating this crisis. Instead of pointing fingers at the EC, they should take responsibility for their actions and work towards finding a solution to the current impasse.

The Ghanaian people deserve better than the petty politics and dishonesty displayed by Fuseini and the NDC. It is time for leaders to put the interests of the nation above their own and work towards a peaceful and democratic resolution to the current crisis.

In conclusion, the constitutional crisis in Ghana was not caused by the EC, but rather by the NDC's actions. It is essential for the NDC leadership to acknowledge their role in creating this crisis and work towards finding a solution. The Ghanaian people deserve honesty, transparency, and accountability from their leaders.
