Police Arrest Suspected Kidnappers Disguising As IPOB Members In Anambra
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a group of suspected kidnappers who were disguising themselves as members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The arrest was made possible through the efforts of the police and other security agencies in the state, who have been working tirelessly to rid the state of criminal elements.
According to the police, the suspected kidnappers were arrested in various locations in Anambra State, including Awka, Onitsha, and Nnewi. The police said that the suspects were found with various incriminating items, including guns, ammunition, and charms. The police also revealed that the suspects had been involved in several kidnapping incidents in the state, and had been demanding ransom from the families of their victims.
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Echeng Echeng, confirmed the arrest of the suspected kidnappers. He said that the police had been tracking the suspects for some time, following a series of complaints from members of the public. CP Echeng commended the efforts of his officers and men, who had worked tirelessly to apprehend the suspects.
CP Echeng warned that the police would not tolerate any form of criminality in the state, and that anyone found to be involved in kidnapping or other forms of crime would be brought to justice. He also appealed to members of the public to continue to provide the police with useful information that could help in the fight against crime. "We urge members of the public to continue to cooperate with us, and to provide us with any information that could help us to track down and apprehend criminals," he said.
The IPOB has also distanced itself from the suspected kidnappers, saying that they were not members of the organization. In a statement, the IPOB said, "We condemn the activities of these kidnappers, and we urge the police to ensure that they are brought to justice. We also call on members of the public to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to the police."
The arrest of the suspected kidnappers has been welcomed by members of the public in Anambra State, who have been calling for more to be done to tackle the problem of kidnapping in the state. The police have assured the public that they will continue to do everything in their power to ensure that the state is safe and secure for everyone.
