KNUST 2024/2025 Undergraduate Admissions Guidelines Released

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has officially released the guidelines for its 2024/2025 undergraduate admissions. The university’s admissions portal is now live, allowing prospective applicants to access and verify their application details. Applicants are encouraged to confirm their personal information, such as their names, dates of birth, and examination records, including index numbers, exam type, and year. This verification process helps ensure the accuracy of the application before submission.

In addition to verifying personal details, applicants are urged to review their programme choices by referencing the 2023/2024 cut-off points to make informed decisions. The cut-off grades serve as a useful reference to help applicants set realistic expectations when selecting courses.

The general admission requirements for WASSCE/SSSCE applicants mandate credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science, along with three elective subject passes that are relevant to the chosen programme. For those with alternative qualifications such as GCE ‘A’ Levels, the International Baccalaureate (IB), or other international certificates, KNUST requires equivalent qualifications for admission. Prospective applicants are also advised to consult programme-specific requirements, as they may differ depending on the course of study.

The university's admissions portal remains open for applications, with applicants encouraged to purchase e-vouchers from any Ghana Post Office. The deadline for submissions is Friday, January 3, 2025, at midnight. Applicants are advised to complete their applications before this closing date to avoid missing the deadline.

For certain programmes, the entry requirements vary. For example, applicants to the College of Engineering must have credit passes in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry in addition to the general requirements. Other colleges, including the College of Health Sciences, Humanities, and Social Sciences, have their own specific entry requirements that applicants must meet. To ensure eligibility, applicants are urged to carefully review the programme-specific criteria for their desired course of study.

Mature and diploma applicants are also encouraged to check the detailed programme requirements to confirm their eligibility. For further guidance on specific programmes or application procedures, applicants can visit the KNUST admissions portal or reach out to the Academic Affairs Division for assistance.

With the portal now open, prospective students are encouraged to complete their applications early to avoid any last-minute rush as the application deadline approaches.
