Wike Accuses Odili Of Encouraging Fubara To Disobey Tinubu

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has accused Peter Odili, a former Governor of Rivers State, of encouraging Governor Siminalayi Fubara to disobey President Bola Tinubu. Wike made this allegation during a reception for stakeholders in Rivers State, where he also defended his comments about Odili, stating that he would not apologize for speaking the truth.

According to Wike, Odili's actions are hypocritical, as he had previously accused Wike of trying to convert Rivers State into his personal estate. Wike denied this allegation, pointing out that those making the accusations have their children serving as commissioners in the state government. He questioned how he could have turned the state into his personal property when his own children are not involved in the government.

Wike also criticized Odili for not upholding the peace agreement brokered by President Tinubu to resolve the political crisis in Rivers State. Instead, Odili allegedly encouraged Fubara to disobey the president's directives. Wike emphasized that Odili's actions are detrimental to the state and its people, and that he should be held accountable for his role in the crisis.

In addition to his allegations against Odili, Wike also defended his decision to work against the People's Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the party's former chairman, Uche Secondus. Wike stated that he made this decision because he believes in supporting the South's bid to produce a president, and that he would not settle for being a second-class citizen.

Wike's accusations against Odili have sparked a heated debate in the political arena, with many calling for Odili to respond to the allegations. The crisis in Rivers State has been ongoing for some time, with Wike and Fubara on opposite sides of the political divide. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the allegations against Odili will impact the political landscape in the state.

In conclusion, Wike's allegations against Odili have added another layer of complexity to the ongoing crisis in Rivers State. As the situation continues to evolve, it is essential to consider the implications of these allegations and how they may impact the state's political future.
