NDC REJECTS ABLEKUMA NORTH ELECTION RESULTS, ACCUSES EC AND NPP OF COLLUSION

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vehemently rejected the ongoing collation process of the Ablekuma North constituency parliamentary results, describing it as "totally illegal." Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the NDC, alleged that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Electoral Commission (EC) are colluding to manipulate the election results in favor of the NPP candidate, Efua Afriyie.

The controversy surrounding the Ablekuma North constituency has been ongoing, with a disputed pink sheet at the center of the dispute. The EC's decision to bring in scanned pink sheets, despite initially stating that they did not have the original documents, has added fuel to the fire. Dr. Tanko-Computer accused the EC of disregarding legal protocols and court rulings, citing a previous Supreme Court ruling on December 21 that he claims invalidated a similar process.

The situation took a turn for the worse when a heated disagreement over the inclusion of the disputed pink sheet erupted into a physical altercation. NDC agents accused the EC and the NPP of attempting to rig the election, while a Presiding Officer denied authenticating figures from his station. The chaos was eventually brought under control by police officers.

Dr. Tanko-Computer warned that the NDC would challenge the outcome through legal channels, stating, "Even if they swear in these illegal candidates, we will pursue them legally. They won't survive in Parliament because what they did is totally illegal, and we won't allow it to rest."

The Ablekuma North constituency is one of the key battlegrounds in the Greater Accra Region, with the NDC and NPP locked in a fierce contest. The constituency is located in the Accra Metropolis and shares boundaries with several other constituencies, including Ablekuma Central, Ablekuma West, and Okaikwei North .

As the controversy surrounding the Ablekuma North constituency continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the situation will be resolved. One thing is certain, however: the NDC will not go down without a fight, and the outcome of this dispute could have significant implications for the future of Ghanaian politics.
