Traditional authorities in the Akatsi North District of Ghana's Volta Region have appealed to President John Mahama to prioritize the completion of abandoned projects initiated by successive governments in their jurisdiction. These projects, they believe, are crucial to the development of the constituency and the well-being of its residents.

In a communique signed by six Paramount Chiefs, the traditional leaders urged President Mahama to honor his pledge to complete the numerous abandoned projects from his previous administration and the Akufo-Addo-led administration in the Akatsi North District. The projects include the Ave-Dakpa to Akatsi road, Ave-Afiadenyigba to Korve road, and other internal roads, as well as a stalled market store project in the old Ave-Dakpa market.

The Chiefs emphasized that completing these projects would significantly contribute to the development of the constituency and improve the livelihoods of its residents. They also expressed their commitment and support to the Mahama-led government in delivering its planned programs, policies, and initiatives to achieve the "Resetting and Rebuilding the Ghana We All Want" agenda.

In addition to their appeal for the completion of abandoned projects, the Chiefs also recommended the appointment of their illustrious son, Peter Nortsu Kotoe, as Minister for Education. Mr. Kotoe, an educationist by profession, has served as the Ranking Member on the Education Committee in the 8th Parliament and has in-depth expertise to contribute to shaping the education sector.

The Chiefs congratulated President Mahama on his victory in the 2024 general election, reflecting the confidence and trust Ghanaians have placed in his vision and leadership to guide the nation toward prosperity and progress. They assured President Mahama of their steadfast support as he leads the nation into a new era of progress and inclusivity.

The communique was signed by Torgbui Nyamekor Glakpe V, President of Ave-Dakpa Traditional Council; Torgbui Adogo Agbalekpor IV, President of Ave-Hevi Traditional Council; Torgbui Gbordzekpor Finu III, President of Ave-Afiadenegba Traditional Council; Torgbui Ahiagbor Gamor IV, President of Ave-Havi Traditional Council; Torgbui Dzidenu Zoglo III, President of Ave-Dzadzefe Traditional Council; and Torgbui Kwame Dogli III, President of Ave-Dzalele Traditional Council.
