A high-profile legal saga involving Russian-born TV model Luisa Kremleva and AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez has reached its conclusion, with Kremleva receiving a six-month suspended jail sentence and a £1,500 fine after admitting to fabricating a rape allegation.
The case began on June 4, 2017, when Kremleva accused Hernandez, 27, of raping her in a car outside the Marbella nightclub Olivia Valere. Investigators dismissed her claims within two days after reviewing CCTV footage and uncovering messages that contradicted her account.
Kremleva’s admission of guilt came as part of a plea bargain to avoid a two-year prison sentence. She confessed to “maliciously” fabricating the allegations in retaliation for Hernandez rejecting her advances to spend the night with her after their consensual encounter.
In the sentencing, Judge Lourdes Sanchez Esquinas detailed the events:
Kremleva’s subsequent arrest in 2020 and repeated delays to her trial culminated in the recent sentencing.
Kremleva has been formally convicted of making a false criminal complaint and warned that she will serve her suspended sentence if she reoffends in the next two years. The court noted her malicious intent to exploit Hernandez’s fame as part of her actions.
Theo Hernandez, capped 35 times for France, has continued his rise in football, recently contributing to AC Milan’s victory in the Italian Super Cup final. Despite the legal turmoil, Hernandez has remained focused on his career, reportedly nearing a lucrative new deal with the Serie A club.
Kremleva’s conviction underscores the seriousness of false allegations and their potential to harm reputations. While Hernandez avoided arrest or formal charges during the ordeal, the case highlights the challenges high-profile individuals face in protecting their public and personal lives.
With the case now closed, both parties can begin to move forward from the events that have spanned nearly seven years.
