The Ablekuma North Constituency in Ghana's Greater Accra Region is currently in a state of uncertainty due to the disputed parliamentary election results. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are at the center of the dispute, with both parties claiming victory.

The NPP's candidate, Nana Akua Afriyie, is said to have secured a clear victory, while the NDC's candidate, Ewurabena Aubyn, insists she was legitimately elected. The disagreement has escalated to the courts, with concerns raised about alleged irregularities and discrepancies in the pink sheets.

Residents are growing increasingly frustrated with the delays, fearing potential setbacks for the constituency's development. The President's promise to implement various initiatives within his first 120 days in office has added to the urgency. Many are calling for a fair and timely resolution to the dispute, urging the Electoral Commission (EC) and the judiciary to expedite the process.

The Ablekuma North Constituency has a rich election history dating back to 1996. Here's a breakdown of the parliamentary election results:

- 1996: The New Patriotic Party (NPP) won with 47.2% of the votes, while the National Democratic Congress (NDC) secured 26.7%.

- 2000: The NPP increased its lead with 62.9% of the votes, while the NDC garnered 28.6%.

- 2004: The NPP maintained its dominance with 65.4% of the votes, while the NDC secured 32.7%.

- 2008: The NPP won with 57.5% of the votes, while the NDC secured 38.2%.

- 2012: The NPP's Justice Joe Appiah won with 59.69% of the votes, while the NDC's Ras Mubarak secured 38.81%.

In the presidential elections, the NPP has consistently performed well in the constituency. In 2012, Nana Akufo-Addo won with 60.73% of the votes, while John Mahama secured 38.52% ¹.Some of the key issues driving the dispute include:
