After being delayed twice due to the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, the announcement of the nominations has reignited anticipation for Hollywood's most prestigious night.

The winners will be revealed during a live, televised ceremony at the iconic Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

This year’s awards highlight the Academy’s continued dedication to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion, paving the way for a more vibrant and inclusive future in film, as noted on their website.

During the event, the Academy will present the highly coveted Academy Awards—better known as the Oscars—across 23 categories to honour the standout films of 2024.

The ceremony will be broadcast live in the U.S. on ABC and, for the first time ever, will also be available for live streaming on Hulu.

Comedian and podcaster Conan O’Brien will make his debut as host, while Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan return as executive producers.

The transgender cartel musical Emilia Perez led this year’s Oscar nominations, earning a total of 13 nods. The announcement, originally delayed by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, was met with excitement.

French director Jacques Audiard’s Mexico-set film, released by Netflix, set a new record for the most nominations for a non-English-language film.

Following closely behind were the epic immigrant drama The Brutalist and the Broadway adaptation Wicked, both with 10 nominations each.

Bob Dylan’s biopic A Complete Unknown and the Vatican thriller Conclave each earned eight nominations.
