Singer Lade recently revealed that her latest song, “One by One,” was a special gift from renowned rapper and singer, Olamide.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, the artist behind the hit “Adulthood Na Scam” shared, “The song was a gift from Olamide. He gave it to me in the studio. I went there expecting to work on something new with my producer, having previously sent him some tracks and waiting for his verse. But when we arrived, Olamide had already recorded the intro and chorus for ‘One by One.’”
Lade continued, “He asked if I liked what I was hearing, and I said ‘yes.’ Then he told me to record my verse. He stayed with me while I worked on it. When I was done, I went to him to ask about my verse, and he said, ‘Don’t you like this song? I’ll do a verse and send it to you.’ That’s how the song came together. I’m grateful for his generosity and the continued support he’s shown me.”
Reflecting on her journey as a singer, Lade shared, “I’d say the waiting period was one of the most memorable stages for me—those moments when you’re putting in the work, hoping to be noticed. It was a fun yet challenging time because, at the start, the reactions weren’t always encouraging. But I thank God for the grace to stay consistent, and I’m especially thankful to my parents for their unwavering support during that time.”
She also spoke about her growth in the industry: “The discovery stage, where I started gaining attention and learning what my fans love and don’t love, has been incredibly important. It’s also the time when I began refining my sound and finding my niche.”
