Singer and songwriter Augustine Ahmedu, also known as Blackface, recently shared the reason behind his decision to write an open letter to the Idibia family, following 2Baba's confirmation of his separation from his wife Annie.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, Blackface explained, “Communication has evolved over time. In the past, we would visit people in person. Then came emails and text messages, and now social media allows us to reach out publicly. Sometimes, it’s not just about speaking to the person directly, but about sharing something that others can learn from too.”
He continued, “Many people have experienced similar challenges to what the couple is going through, but for them, it’s a first. They just need to take it easy and not rush the process.”
Having gone through a divorce himself, Blackface offered advice to young people who may feel hesitant about marriage. He said, “Everyone’s journey is different. Life isn’t one-size-fits-all. Just because some marriages fail doesn’t mean others can’t thrive. You have to be prepared for anything. During courtship, couples should communicate openly and discuss their individual needs. Don’t get into marriage for the wrong reasons. It’s your life—take control and trust that God will guide you.”

The statement, signed by the company’s founder, Bugwu Aneto-Okeke, emphasized that the new collaboration builds on their established partnership with YouTube in sound recording and audiovisual services.
