Reality TV star and actor Seyi Awolowo has highlighted the importance of raising awareness and prioritizing the mental health of male celebrities.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, Awolowo shared, “I don’t think the mental health of male celebrities is getting the attention it deserves. I’m not sure exactly what changes are needed because it depends on how the conversation is framed, but one thing I’d advocate for is fairness. Everyone should be able to give what they can take and take what they can give.”
He went on to say, “There shouldn’t be any notion of who’s more important or who shouldn’t be as important. There's already an imbalance that causes arguments, and I just want fairness across the board. There shouldn’t be favouritism towards any gender.”
When asked about how he keeps up with trends, Awolowo responded, “I do what I can and leave the rest to God. Like they say, ‘When one person’s journey begins, another person’s ends.’ Trying to keep up with every trend can be exhausting, mentally and emotionally. I focus on staying true to myself.”
On his approach to social media, Awolowo said, “I stay authentic to who I am, and I believe my fans will appreciate that. I’m not interested in creating a façade to meet anyone's expectations. This is who I am, how I speak, and how I live—there’s no hidden agenda.”
Meanwhile: Soul singer Opaluwa Solomon, also known as Khingsolo, has opened up about his latest EP, Who Jah Bless. In an interview with Saturday Beats, Khingsolo revealed that the EP is a tribute to his late father, whose iconic catchphrase was “Who Jah bless.” The project delves into themes of introspection, self-discovery, and finding hope in life's darkest times.
“The EP is dedicated to my dad’s memory, whose slogan ‘Who Jah bless’ meant so much to him,” Khingsolo shared. “The inspiration behind this project comes from my journey, the things I’ve experienced, and the emotions I’ve felt. I wanted to craft a story that touches on the universal human experience.” Continue the story here.
