Ghanaian artist Ama Nova has expressed her disappointment with Fameye after he failed to fulfil an agreement regarding their collaborative song.
During an interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, Nova shared her frustration over Fameye’s lack of promotion for their track on his social media, despite having paid him for it. The initial agreement was for Fameye to promote the song by sharing Nova’s artwork to show his support for the release. However, Nova revealed that Fameye never posted anything about the song.
“It would have been great if he shared my artwork to show that he supported the release,” Nova said. “I’ve had several people message me, saying they checked Fameye’s page and didn’t see anything about the song. It’s tough for me, and it’s heartbreaking.”
Nova also voiced her frustration about the delayed release of the song. Originally scheduled for release in October of last year, it was only released about two weeks ago.
The artist explained that they had agreed on a payment for Fameye to post about the song and also be involved in the video shoot. However, when Nova tried to reach out to Fameye to fulfil his part of the deal, her efforts were unsuccessful.
“We agreed on a certain amount, which included a music video, and I paid that amount,” Nova explained. “There was no formal contract, but we have conversations and WhatsApp chats that show the transaction took place. Plus, there’s a receipt that proves the payment was made.”
Nova further shared that she has a voice note from Fameye saying he would shoot content with her if she paid him a specific amount. He also mentioned he would be coming to New York, and they could shoot the video together.
“I’ve been trying to meet with his team since I got to Ghana,” Nova said. “Every time I called, they said they were busy or on the road. They kept telling me to keep trying, and maybe one day I’d get the chance to meet them for a meeting.”
Nova’s frustration grew when Fameye’s manager informed her that the artist wanted to support her music but couldn’t mix it with his own ongoing projects. She was told to delay her release until Fameye was ready.
"Now the song is out, and not even a post on Fameye’s page," Nova lamented.
The song in question, Odo Different, featuring Fameye, has officially been released.
