Since President Donald Trump took office, nearly 6,000 illegal immigrants have been deported, according to a senior White House official speaking to DailyMail UK. This equates to an average of approximately 370 to 400 deportations per day. On Monday alone, ICE deported 512 individuals and arrested 715 people with outstanding immigration violations.

Of those arrested, 73% had criminal records or pending charges, including serious offences such as homicide, sexual crimes, and drug trafficking. Six members of the Tren de Aragua cartel were also taken into custody.

A senior official remarked, "President Trump's administration is fulfilling his commitment to arrest and deport criminal illegal immigrants. This is just the beginning—there's more to come."

Since January 20, nearly 9,000 immigration violators have been arrested, many facing multiple charges.

Some of the deported individuals are being sent to Guantanamo Bay, where the U.S. military has intensified operations to detain "high-threat" aliens, including suspected cartel members. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem released images of the deportations, emphasizing, "Guantanamo Bay will hold the worst of the worst. That begins today."

Around 380 U.S. service members are involved in the operation at the Cuban base, which hasn’t been used for migrant detentions since 1994.

Trump praised the crackdown, stating, "The volume of crime... these people are horrible... If I can get them out of the country, I think it would be great."

Meanwhile: The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a warning to Nigerians, especially the youth, about the dangers of drug abuse, calling it a major threat to the country’s future.

Prof. Christianah Adeyeye, Director-General (DG) of NAFDAC, made this statement on Wednesday during the “Catch Them Young” sensitization event at Muhammadu Kobo Secondary School, located in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger. She was represented by the state coordinator, pharmacist James Kigbu.

According to Adeyeye, 14.3 million Nigerians are reported to be victims of drug abuse. She expressed deep concern about the alarming statistics and stressed the importance of a collective effort to address the issue. Read more here.
