Demango MP Denies Calling Zanetor Rawlings As The Daughter Of A Murderer
Samuel Abu Jinapor, the Member of Parliament for Damongo, has strongly refuted claims that he labeled Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings as the "daughter of a murderer."
During a parliamentary session on February 4, 2025, tensions escalated when an alleged offensive remark was directed at Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings.
The controversy erupted while lawmakers were discussing the 60th anniversary of Joseph Boakye Danquah’s passing, sparking widespread public debate.
Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, who represents the Korle-Klottey constituency, stood up to participate in the discussion but was overlooked by the Speaker, who instead allowed Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to speak.
As the Minority Leader addressed the house, interruptions from other MPs caused further disorder in the chamber.
Amid the chaotic atmosphere, a voice from the Minority side allegedly made a demeaning remark about Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, calling her the "daughter of a murderer" and instructing her to sit down.
Another unidentified MP from the same side reportedly added that there was evidence her father had taken lives.
These remarks have been linked to Samuel Abu Jinapor. However, he has categorically denied making such statements. Speaking to the media, he emphasized that such language does not align with his political principles.
He insisted that those familiar with his political career would know he does not engage in such rhetoric. The former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources urged the public to dismiss the accusations against him.
