Abu Jinapor Breaks Silence After Being Accused Of Calling Zanetor Rawlings The Daughter Of A Murderer
Former Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has firmly rejected claims that he insulted Dr. Zanetor Agyemang Rawlings during a Parliamentary session. The Damongo MP dismissed allegations that he referred to Dr. Zanetor as the "daughter of a murderer," labeling them as completely untrue.
In a statement posted on his social media, Jinapor stressed his deep regard for the late President Jerry John Rawlings, his family, and Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, who serves as the MP for Korle Klottey. He made it clear that he harbors no ill will toward the Rawlings family and would never show them any form of disrespect.
"I want to set the record straight—these allegations are entirely false. I have the utmost respect for Former President Jerry John Rawlings, his family, and Dr. Zanetor Rawlings," he asserted.
Jinapor, who had a positive rapport with the late former president, recalled that Rawlings had shown interest in his political journey when he was just starting. He reaffirmed that he would never insult the Rawlings family or any other Ghanaian, as such behavior goes against his principles.
"I have never, and will never, speak ill of the Rawlings family or any Ghanaian. That is simply not who I am," he added.
The Damongo MP also reiterated his dedication to maintaining a respectful and intellectual atmosphere in parliamentary debates. He encouraged discussions that focus on ideas rather than personal attacks. Jinapor urged the public to dismiss any suggestion that he made derogatory remarks while Dr. Zanetor was speaking in Parliament.
"President Rawlings, during his lifetime, showed great interest in my growth as a young politician, and I deeply respected him as a statesman," Jinapor said. "I have always believed in fair and intelligent discussions in Parliament and public discourse, free from insults and personal defamation!"
Through this statement, Jinapor aims to set the record straight and reassure the public of his commitment to respectful political dialogue. While it remains uncertain how this controversy will develop, his position is clear: the accusations are unfounded, and he remains dedicated to upholding decorum and respect in Ghanaian politics.
