Deeply troubled by the apparent disregard for the Klottey-Korle MP, the chiefs have set a deadline of February 10th for the Speaker to unveil the individual responsible. Their petition also mentions two lawmakers initially suspected of making the offensive remark, though both have denied any involvement. The controversial incident took place on Tuesday, February 4, amid intense deliberations in Parliament. As members debated various topics, including the 60th anniversary of Joseph Boakye Danquah’s passing, an unidentified male voice was heard making an offensive comment.
The remark was directed at Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, the daughter of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings. Her father, who first led Ghana as a military ruler before transitioning to democratic governance in the 1990s, remains a highly revered figure in the country’s political history.
