Fuji music icon, Abass Akande, better known as Obesere, recently celebrated his 60th birthday. In an interview with Saturday Beats, the "Egungun Be Careful" hitmaker reflected on his life and career, stating that he has no regrets.

He shared, "There’s nothing I wish I had done differently. It’s all part of God’s plan, and I have no regrets. I believe I’m still on the rise. I haven’t even begun yet."

When asked about the accomplishment he’s most proud of, Obesere mentioned, "I have so many achievements, it’s hard to list them all. Whether it’s the children God blessed me with, whom I’ve been able to send abroad for their education, or the citizenship I’ve been granted overseas, or the houses and investments I’ve acquired—there are countless blessings. I can’t even name them all. What matters most is that I give thanks to my creator and my star."

On the topic of documenting his legacy, Obesere revealed, "I’m currently working on both a biography and a documentary. By God’s grace, they’ll be released soon. My story is inspiring, and I want the younger generation to learn from it. That’s why I’ve named one of my houses ‘Wisdom Compound.’ There’s so much wisdom in my life, journey, and career that I want others to absorb."

Meanwhile: Yemi Alade, a celebrated figure in the afrobeats scene, has long been more than just a musical talent. As an ambassador of African culture, she has earned the title of 'Mama Africa' for her unwavering commitment to showcasing the continent on global stages.

At the 2025 Grammy Awards on February 2, she once again exemplified why she’s deserving of that moniker. Draped in a red gown adorned with intricate beadwork on her wrist, neck, and head, she radiated confidence and grace, reaffirming her status as one of Nigeria’s most stylish artists. Read more here.
