The management of Airport Hills has set the record straight regarding claims that Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, owns a house in their estate. According to them, Mr. Ablakwa does not own any property there he is simply a tenant.
This clarification comes after reports surfaced suggesting that he owned a $3 million house, sparking debates about his financial dealings. The claims, which spread widely on social media, led to speculation about how a public servant could afford such an expensive property. However, Mr. Ablakwa has denied these allegations, calling them false and misleading.
During his vetting by the Appointments Committee on January 31, 2025, he directly addressed the rumors. He made it clear that he does not own any house in Airport Hills or even in his own constituency. He described the accusations as politically motivated and an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
“It’s unfortunate that instead of focusing on real issues, people are spreading lies. I don’t own a house in Airport Hills. I have always been open about my assets, and I have nothing to hide,” he stated.
To clear any doubts, the management of Airport Hills itself confirmed that Mr. Ablakwa is only a tenant. They emphasized that he does not own any property within the estate, contradicting the widespread claims.
For many, this official confirmation puts an end to the rumors. However, the situation highlights how easily misinformation can spread, especially on social media. A simple false claim can quickly gain traction, leading to unnecessary controversy.
Despite these distractions, Mr. Ablakwa remains focused on his parliamentary duties. He has urged the public to be cautious about believing and spreading unverified information.
“Let’s not allow politics to be reduced to lies and propaganda. We have bigger issues to focus on issues that affect the daily lives of Ghanaians,” he added.
While politicians often face scrutiny, it is important that such discussions are based on facts rather than speculation. With this matter now clarified, Mr. Ablakwa is moving forward, committed to serving his constituents and contributing to national development.
