🚨 Selormey died in prison, Ofori-Atta former Finance Minister runs Abroad: The Justice we can't ignore.
Least we forget, the late Victor Selormey, Former Deputy Finance Minister, was locked up in Nsawam Prison despite his severe health issues. this man has a pacemaker in this chest and needed an oxygen tank just to breathe. Yet, the authorities didn't care. They kept him in those horrible conditions until his family begged for his release so he could get medical treatment. But they were ignored. A few days later Salormey died of a heart attack at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Now, fast forward to Ken Ofori Atta - The Former Finance Minister who's been accused of wrecking the economy. This man who should be facing the music for his corrupt actions, is now "seeking medical care abroad". Why? Is his health worse than Selormey's? Or is it just that he thinks he's untouchable because of his position? He's running away from accountability, trying to dodge justice just because of his political connections. Let's be real for a seconds: The Hypocrisy here is shocking. Selormey, a man who was literally dying in Prison, was ignored by the system. His family fought to get him the help he needed, but it was too late. Meanwhile, Ofori Atta gets to skip town and act like he's too sick to face the world.
This is the system we live in. If you're powerful enough, you can dodge the justice. But what about the rest of us? The Youth, the ones who've been bearing the brunt of thie broken system of the economy, we need to ask ourselves: how long are we going to let people like Ofori Atta play us for fools including the Government always misusing our hard earn money with Taxes.
Selormey didn't get a second chance. Ofori Atta night just get one. But are we going to let him? It's time to hold the powerful accountable. It's time for the youth to rise and demand real justice.
