The family of renowned Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2baba (formerly 2face), has issued an urgent plea regarding the well-being of their son. This distressing situation arose after reports surfaced that 2baba had gone missing under mysterious circumstances.

In the early hours of February 14, 2025, viral videos emerged showing 2baba's mother, Rose Idibia, urgently calling for public intervention. She specifically appealed to Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawuru, urging her to “release” 2baba from what she described as a troubling predicament.
“Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, the mother of 2baba. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawuru of Edo State. I’m asking all mothers in Nigeria to please help me beg her to free my son,” Rose stated emotionally.
She expressed grave concerns about her son's well-being and mental state, noting, “My son is currently going through a divorce, and he is not in the right frame of mind. Please, Natasha, remove the beads from his neck and wrist and set him free.”
Before this emotional plea, the family had filed a formal missing person report with the Department of State Services in Ikoyi, Lagos. According to the petition, 2baba left his home on February 10, 2025, dressed casually for a walk but failed to return. Despite the efforts of family members and friends to find him, no trace of him has been found.
Further compounding the family's distress are reports that several of 2baba's close friends have received messages from what appear to be his social media accounts, requesting financial help. This has raised alarms, as 2baba is financially independent and has never solicited such assistance. His family now suspects that his identity may have been compromised and that he may have been abducted, with someone using his contacts for financial exploitation.
This incident follows a series of now-deleted social media posts in which 2baba publicly declared his love for Natasha Osawuru, suggesting a possible new romantic relationship despite his ongoing marital issues with his wife, Annie (née Macaulay). In one of the posts, 2baba defended the relationship, asserting that Osawuru was not responsible for the troubles in his marriage.
“I’ve seen so many false narratives and malicious gossip since I posted that message. She (Osawuru) is an amazing, brilliant woman who has nothing to do with the issues between me and Annie. Yes, I love her, and I want to marry her,” he said in part.
Before this, 2baba had shared a photo of Osawuru on his social media with the caption, “Now this is my world. Please, help me beg her to marry me.”
As the situation unfolds, fans and supporters are left confused by the conflicting stories surrounding 2baba's disappearance.
Efforts by Saturday Beats to contact Wilson Anuge, the lawyer who filed the petition, were unsuccessful. When our correspondent searched for his firm on Google Maps, it showed contact details, but the number was turned off and was not available on messaging platforms like WhatsApp.
