On Tuesday, Nollywood actress Chika Ike addressed the rumours surrounding the paternity of her unborn child. Ike took to Instagram to clarify the situation, expressing that she felt it was important to dispel the false information circulating on social media, particularly as it concerns her child.

The actress denied claims that Senator Ned Nwoko is the father of her baby, calling it mere speculation. She also made it clear that she has no intention of becoming the seventh wife of the Delta lawmaker, emphasizing that polygamy is not something she embraces.

Ike wrote, “There have been many lies spread about me over the years, but I’ve always ignored them, treating them as nothing more than rumours. However, this time it’s different—this is about my child. You all don’t know anything about me, and you can’t unless I choose to share it. Yes, I’m that private! Ned is not the father of my child, and whoever else you might speculate about, let me make it clear—I’m not about to be anyone’s seventh wife. Polygamy is not for me.”

She continued, “I’ve been pregnant for months, and no one knew until I made the announcement. Now, some think they can guess who the father is or speculate about my life. It’s laughable and clueless!”

Ike urged those spreading the false rumours to keep searching for answers, while she remains focused on enjoying the joy of her pregnancy.

Recently, Senator Nwoko also denied the rumours that he was planning to marry Ike as his seventh wife or that she was carrying his child. His wife, Regina Daniels, has been quiet on the matter, deactivating her Instagram account, which only fueled public speculation.

In a statement released on Monday by Nwoko’s Director of Communications and shared on his Instagram page, the senator’s camp dismissed the rumours as “entirely baseless” and an unfortunate product of malicious gossip. The statement further urged the public to ignore these unfounded claims.

The statement read, “We have been made aware of the recent false rumours alleging that Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is pregnant with his child. We categorically deny these claims, which are entirely baseless and stem from malicious speculation.”
