Reduce the cost of DNA tests – Big Akwes appeals to Mahama
Kumawood actor, Big Akwes, has called on government to assist in reducing the high costs of DNA or paternity tests in the country.
According to him, such an intervention would help men, including himself to prevent the heartbreaks of later discovering their children are not theirs.
The actor, in an interview with Max TV, made reference to several high-profile cases, including that of former Black Stars captain Odartey Lamptey, who discovered that three of his children were not his, and a Kumasi-based pastor who found out that three out of his four children were not biologically related to him.
Big Akwes expressed hope that President John Dramani Mahama would take steps to reduce the cost of DNA testing during his tenure.
The actor made this appeal while revealing that four women are currently claiming he is the father of their children.
Big Akwes also stressed that wives should not feel threatened if their husbands request DNA tests, especially if they are confident in their faithfulness in the marriage.
