PSG MANAGER LUIS ENRIQUE REALIZES LIVERPOOL FEARS AS HE PREPARES STUNNING ARNE SLOT'S STATEMENT

Liverpool head to the Parc des Princes in their Champions League last 16 first leg against French champions Paris Saint-Germain, with Luis Enrique's players in exceptional form.
Luis Enrique admits PSG is concerned about Liverpool's "fighter jets" ahead of what he expects will be one of "the best matches in Europe".

The PSG coach is concerned about the pace of Liverpool's attack in the opening leg of their Champions League last-16 encounter. Liverpool arrived in the French capital Wednesday night, with Cody Gakpo doubtful after missing training on Merseyside earlier in the day.

However, the Reds still have the red-hot Mo Salah, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota as alternatives for the massive game at the Parc des Princes.

"Liverpool has one of the best counter attacks in Europe so we will try to keep the ball and be careful not to suffer too much from transitions," Enrique told the press. "They have three fighter jets in attack and it's not easy to stop these fighter jets."

Salah has 30 goals and 22 assists this season as they lead the Premier League and top the Champions League group stage.

"We are facing the team that has played the best football in the group stage," Enrique joked. "They were the most consistent team.

" Arne Slot has done an excellent job. He has assembled a nearly-perfect team that knows how to defend, press, and attack either by holding the ball or speeding."

In a rare admission, Enrique admitted that Liverpool may have a tiny advantage.

PSG has gone 22 games unbeaten since losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich in late November. The Ligue 1 champions have won their previous ten games, scoring an eye-watering 40 goals in a brilliantly reshaped attack after Kylian Mbappe's departure to Real Madrid.
"The advantage of our forwards is that they can play in every position," commented Enrique. "Our opponents find it tough to play at Parc des Princes due to the pressure.

"The mood is wonderful, and I hope we can benefit from it. On paper, it is one of the best matchups to see in Europe."
