BAYERN MUNICH'S SLIP-UP: HARRY KANE URGES TEAM TO STAY FOCUSED

Harry Kane emphasized the importance of maintaining focus throughout the entire match after Bayern Munich's shocking 3-2 defeat to Bochum in the Bundesliga.

Bayern Munich, who are currently eight points clear at the top of the league, were expected to easily dispatch Bochum, who are struggling to avoid relegation. However, despite taking an early two-goal lead through Raphael Guerreiro's brace, Bayern Munich allowed Bochum to mount a comeback, ultimately surrendering the lead and suffering their second league defeat of the season.

Kane, who was given a rare rest on the bench before coming on in the 62nd minute, rued his team's mistakes, including Joao Palhinha's red card in the first half. "We started the game well and did everything we needed to take the lead," Kane said. "Then they scored, and the momentum shifted. After the red card, it shows that at this level, you have to stay focused for 90 minutes or you can be punished - and that's exactly what happened today."

The defeat comes at an inopportune time for Bayern Munich, who are preparing to face Bayer Leverkusen in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie. Bayern Munich won the first leg 3-0, with Kane scoring a brace to take his tally in all competitions this season to 30 goals.

Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel was not present at the match, and instead, Vincent Kompany, who is set to take over as Bayern Munich's coach next season, was in charge. Kompany acknowledged that his team's performance was not up to par. "We played well for one half of the round," Kompany said. "The second half will come next week in Leverkusen. We'll have to play just as well there to reach the quarter final."

The defeat serves as a wake-up call for Bayern Munich, who cannot afford to take their foot off the gas if they want to achieve their goal of winning the Champions League. The final of the competition will be hosted at Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena on May 31, and Kane will be eager to get his hands on some silverware in his debut season with the German giants.
