PSG manager Luis Enrique rejects the Liverpool idea and makes a Champions League guarantee.
Luis Enrique orchestrated Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League victory over Liverpool, overcoming Arne Slot's men on the so-called 'lottery' of penalties to earn their spot in the quarter-finals.
Luis Enrique indicated that he was off to do some dancing after Liverpool was eliminated from the Champions League. The PSG manager revelled in his team's penalty shootout victory at Anfield, which secured a quarter-final tie against Aston Villa or Club Brugge next month. However, the former Barcelona head coach, who won the Champions League with the Spanish club in 2015, was the first to celebrate the victory. He stated, "It's always special to play at Anfield." We are a relatively young crew with a lot of personality. Now it's a large celebration, and I'm looking forward to dancing a little!"
Gianluigi Donnarumma fended off Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones in the shootout. Vitinha, Goncalo Ramos, Ousmane Dembele, and Desire Doue scored for PSG, propelling them through. PSG are aiming for their first European Cup. Dembele had earlier scored in normal time to counter Harvey Elliott's late goal in the first leg in Paris. Enrique said, "Clearly, I am delighted with our performance. This is an important occasion for us. "Both teams deserved to advance, but we may have deserved it more due to the first leg. We have a strong character and individuality. Tonight, Liverpool may have outperformed us at times, but we never gave up and created danger.

This is an important occasion for us. "Both teams deserved to advance, but we may have deserved it more due to the first leg. We have a strong character and individuality. Tonight, Liverpool may have outperformed us at times, but we never gave up and created danger." We certainly delivered a good performance. We had to win tonight, and we did. We were eliminated in the semi-finals last season after hitting the frame of the goal six times. But this time, we made it through.
Donnarumma's penalty heroics surely compensated for his blunder in allowing Elliott's goal last week. Enrique stated, "The first game belonged to Alisson Becker, while the second game belonged to Donnarumma. "I believe the penalties reflect the team we are. Doue, a 19-year-old, took the final penalty, and Donnarumma was superb in the penalty shootout. Liverpool put a lot of balls into the box and up high; he handled with them brilliantly, and I'm really delighted with him."
