In every house, there are different types of vessels—some for honour and others for common use. In the same way, God has vessels for special purposes. If you desire to be used mightily by God, you must be willing to position yourself, prepare, and undergo His purification process. Here are six practical steps to becoming a strong believer:
Your journey to spiritual strength begins with recognizing that you belong to God’s household. As a believer, you are part of His divine family. This understanding changes your perspective and helps you live with purpose and accountability.
When you accept that you are in God’s house, you become more aware of your spiritual responsibilities and the need to reflect His glory in every area of your life.
Scripture Reference: Isaiah 64:8
God is the ultimate Potter, and we are the clay. To grow as a strong believer, you must fully surrender to His shaping process. This refining journey can be challenging—it involves breaking, moulding, and enduring the fire of transformation.
Do not resist God’s work in your life. Allow Him to refine every area, including your thoughts, actions, and ambitions. When you yield to God, you become a vessel fit for His extraordinary purposes.
Scripture Reference: Acts 1:8
The Holy Spirit is the believer’s source of power. On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit transformed ordinary followers into bold witnesses. As a strong believer, you must live with daily awareness of the Spirit’s presence.
Start your day by asking the Holy Spirit for guidance—He is your helper, counsellor, and source of strength. Without His empowerment, even the best spiritual tools become ineffective.
Scripture Reference: Ephesians 6:12-15
The Christian life involves spiritual battles. Our real enemies are not people but unseen forces—principalities and powers. To overcome, you must be equipped with spiritual knowledge and understand how to use God’s Word effectively.
Prayer is your most powerful weapon. Prioritize prayer over worldly desires, and learn how to declare God’s promises with authority. Through consistent prayer, you claim territories for God and defeat spiritual opposition.
Obedience is key to fulfilling God’s purpose for your life. Every believer has a unique assignment, and spiritual strength comes from being both available and correctly positioned.
Do not compare your calling to others—God has a specific task for you. Whether in your family, workplace, or ministry, follow His direction and stay focused on your divine purpose.
Remaining strong requires staying connected to God through prayer and humility. Constant fellowship with Him keeps you grounded and spiritually alert.
Never outgrow your dependence on God. Stay humble, seek His face daily, and remain committed to His work. In doing so, you become an unshakable vessel that God can use for His glory.
Becoming a strong believer is a continuous journey of surrender, preparation, and obedience. As you follow these six steps, you will grow in spiritual strength and become a vessel of honour in God’s house.
Are you ready to be used by God? Start today by yielding to His process and purification and walking in the power of the Holy Spirit.
