The rivalry between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain has intensified, with the French club seeking revenge for the loss of Kylian Mbappe to Los Blancos. PSG is still embroiled in a legal battle with Mbappe over €55m in unpaid wages, claiming a verbal agreement between Mbappe and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi is binding.

According to Marca, PSG has begun targeting Real Madrid's top academy talents, sparking concern within the Spanish club. In response, Real Madrid recently signed a first contract with 16-year-old Bryan Bugarin. PSG coaches have been courting some of Real Madrid's young players, similar to their approach with Xavi Simons from Barcelona's La Masia.

The tension between the clubs was evident during the Al-Kass tournament in Doha, Qatar, where Real Madrid's under-17 team faced PSG. Al-Khelaifi attended the match, congratulating the Real Madrid youngsters on their victory. However, Real Madrid staff closely watched Al-Khelaifi, suspecting he might use the opportunity to poach their young talents.

The strained relationship between the clubs stems from Mbappe's departure and Real Madrid's dramatic comeback against PSG in the 2022 Champions League. Additionally, the clubs have differing stances on the Super League. The rivalry may escalate further if they meet in the Champions League semi-finals, pending PSG's match against Aston Villa and Real Madrid's encounter with Arsenal.

Real Madrid is on high alert, aware that PSG is actively seeking to recruit their top young players. The Spanish club will need to take measures to protect their academy talents and prevent PSG from poaching them. The rivalry between the two clubs continues to intensify, both on and off the pitch.

Saudi Arabia being mentioned in talks as Vinicius and Real inch closer to signing a new contract.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior is never too far away from the headlines, but more than anything else, the narrative that has appeared most often has been the links to Saudi Arabia. The Brazilian has assured that he intends to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu for many years to come, but was also reportedly present during a meeting with Saudi officials in February.

The Middle Eastern superpower has been courting Vinicius since last summer, with the promise of a €1b contract for the 24-year-old. Meanwhile Vinicius has reportedly been keen for a wage rise at Real Madrid, one that would take him well clear of Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe in terms of earning potential. Most recently, the Madrid-based media reported that Los Blancos had contacted Vinicius to find out his demands, and would resume talks towards the end of the season.

However Sport say that significant progress has been made on a new deal. After Real Madrid President Florentino Perez made it abundantly clear to Vinicius that he would not be breaking his wage structure, both sides have compromised. They say that Vinicius will receive a wage rise, but not one that would take him far in excess of Mbappe. An agreement is close and the intention would be to announce it after the season has unfolded. However they do say that a special clause is being considered, where if Saudi Arabia did present a mammoth offer, then Real Madrid would be obligated to at least listen to it or accept it.
