**Delay Expresses Disappointment Over King Paluta’s *Makoma* Snub at 2025 TGMA**

Ghanaian media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, has joined the growing chorus of voices questioning the exclusion of King Paluta’s hit song *Makoma* from the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) nominations. On Tuesday, March 18, she took to her X page to share her thoughts, expressing disappointment over what she considers an unfair omission. In her post, she stated that the situation serves as a reminder of why she believes in constant prayer, as things that rightfully belong to people can be taken away unexpectedly. Her comments have fueled an already intense online discussion, with many music lovers arguing that *Makoma* was one of the most popular songs of the year and should have been recognized in the awards.

King Paluta and his management have also taken action in response to the snub, launching a petition to demand clarity on why the song was not considered for any of the four categories they submitted: ‘Most Popular Song of the Year,’ ‘Record of the Year,’ ‘Hiplife Song of the Year,’ and ‘Songwriter of the Year.’ They maintain that *Makoma* met all the ethical and moral standards required for the awards and was widely celebrated within the year under review. Fans of the artist have taken to social media to express their displeasure, questioning the credibility of the TGMA selection process and calling for more transparency. Many believe that overlooking such a widely loved song undermines the awards’ reputation and raises concerns about fairness in the nomination process.

The debate surrounding the exclusion of *Makoma* continues to gain momentum, with industry stakeholders weighing in on the matter. Some argue that award schemes are often subjective, and not every deserving song can make the final list. Others, however, believe that the omission of *Makoma* is a significant oversight that points to deeper issues within the Ghanaian music industry’s recognition system. As the controversy unfolds, it remains to be seen whether the TGMA board will respond to the growing demand for an explanation. In the meantime, King Paluta’s team and fans continue to push for answers, hoping that their concerns will lead to greater accountability in future award nominations.
