Nsoatreman FC has been referred to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Prosecutor following their decision to withdraw from the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League. These alarming incidents led the club to conclude that they could no longer guarantee the safety of their players, prompting their exit from the league.
Despite multiple efforts by the GFA to persuade Nsoatreman FC to reconsider their withdrawal, no agreement was reached. The Football Association engaged in discussions with the club in an attempt to resolve the matter, but the negotiations were unsuccessful. As a result, the GFA has invoked the relevant provisions in the Competition Regulations to handle the situation and has referred the matter to its Prosecutor for disciplinary action. According to Article 13(5) of the Premier League Regulations, any club that pulls out of the league after the season has commenced will forfeit all remaining matches. Consequently, every team scheduled to play against Nsoatreman FC will automatically be awarded three points and three goals in their favor. This ruling ensures that the league continues without disruption, even in the absence of the withdrawn team. The GFA confirmed that this regulation would apply to all of Nsoatreman’s remaining fixtures in the league, ensuring fairness and continuity for the other competing teams.
