The country’s delegation will be led by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, who will also feature as a speaker alongside other global energy leaders.

According to a statement from the NGA, the delegation includes key figures in the country’s energy sector, such as Farouk Ahmed, Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority; Bayo Ojulari, Group CEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited; Felix Ogbe, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board; Ed Ubong, Coordinating Director of the Decade of Gas; and NGA President Akachukwu Nwokedi, among others.

Their participation is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s involvement in global energy discussions and highlighting natural gas as a cornerstone of the nation’s economic growth and transition to cleaner energy.

Major industry players supporting this initiative include NLNG, Shell Nigeria, First E&P, Axxela, ND Western, Aradel PLC, Aiteo, Tetracore, Xenergi, Peiyang Chemical Engineering, ENTEC Power, Neconde Energy, Shoreline, and Oando, with backing from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and NNPC Ltd.

These companies will participate in the Nigerian Pavilion at the conference, organized by NGA and the Decade of Gas Secretariat. The pavilion will showcase Nigeria’s gas resources, investment prospects, and policy developments, reinforcing the country’s leadership role in Africa’s energy landscape.

NGA President Nwokedi emphasized that this collaboration between government and industry signals a unified effort to reposition Nigeria as a forward-looking and dependable energy partner.

“WGC 2025 is more than just an event—it marks a turning point for Africa’s energy agenda,” he said. “The participation of the Honourable Minister and his team shows Nigeria’s commitment to leading in the global gas sector.”

The event will run from May 19 to 23, 2025, at the China National Convention Centre, with over 30,000 participants, 600 companies, and 400 experts expected.

Minister Ekpo described the opportunity to lead the delegation as a privilege and emphasized the importance of using the platform to attract investments, foster international collaboration, and promote sustainable development through gas.
