The lead pastor of Light Nation Church in Abuja, Femi Lazarus, and singer Timi Dakolo have resolved their recent disagreement.
As a reminder, the two were involved in a social media back-and-forth, with Dakolo questioning Pastor Lazarus about charging fees for his school of ministry, while criticizing gospel musicians who charge for church performances. In response, Pastor Lazarus explained that the fees for the school of ministry are necessary because it operates as a school.
On the other hand, Dakolo clarified that gospel musicians charge for their performances because they have their own financial obligations.
On Monday evening, Pastor Lazarus shared an update on Instagram, revealing that he and Dakolo have made peace. He praised Dakolo for carrying the weight of other musicians' struggles and expressed that he now understands the legitimacy of the singer’s concerns.
In a post that featured a photo of himself, Dakolo, and Pastor Iren, Lazarus wrote: “My brother Timi Dakolo is a music legend. Give him his flowers. What a man! He genuinely carries the burdens of a musician. His concerns are real. I love you. Better structures will be built. Pain is real. From pulpits to pews, the pain is real, but we will be fine.
“This generation will not carry over pain. Hosts will do better. Guests will do better. Together, we will have a better nation.”
